US Embassy's Fund Grant to DLSL


On September 30, 2009, the United States Embassy, through its Cultural Affairs Officer, Ms. Martha Buckley gave a Fund Grant of USD5,000 to De La Salle Lipa through its representative Atty. Emerito Enginco. The donation is intended for the purchase of books for the proposed DLSL College of Law and the DLSL Center, the law school’s outreach arm. Books on rule of law, good governance, public policy and the like are only some of the future acquisitions.

Tourism Students Visits Macau and Hong Kong

Fifty-seven sophomore Tourism Management students visited Macau and Hong Kong last September 30 to October 3, 2009. The four-day study tour is in line with their subject World Geography and International Tourism. Joining the group were College of International Hospitality and Tourism Management (CIHTM) Dean Ms. Joy S. Zapata, Tourism Department Chairperson Ms. Andrenelyn Varon and Chéz Rafael Supervisor Ms. Jovita Morada.


Highlights of the international study tour include Gondola Ride at the Venetian Hotel in Macau, tram ride at Victoria Peak in Hong Kong, and visit in other tourist destinations like the Wax Museum, Abardeen Court, and Avenue of Stars. The participants also attended the lecture of Ms. Rosia Lau, the Senior Executive of Trade Services-South and Southeast Asia of Hong Tourism Board at Ramada Kowloon, a first class hotel where the delegates stayed.
