PARC Commitment Renewal Program


22 Young Brothers from India, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam are gathered together in Bangalore, India for the Commitment Renewal Program, now in its integration and evaluation stage. The program began 1 August and will end on the 31st. Practically all of the YBs in the program had their novitiate in Lipa under different novice masters. The participants were either preparing for Final Vows or have recently professed. Among the presentors in the month long program were Vicar General Br. Thomas Johnson, FSC (Lasallian Spirituality), Fr William Sekuerra, SJ (Psycho-spiritual Integration), Br. David Hawke, FSC (”The Institute and the Young Brothers”), Fr. Arul Sivan, SJ (Prayer – Yoga and Meditation), and Bros. Joseph Fernando, FSC, Mark Murphy, FSC and T. Amalan FSC (Integration of the Experience and Evaluation). The 8-Day Directed Retreat is traditionally part of the renewal program and among those who flew in to help were Brs. Peter Foo and Vincent Keating. Brs. Joseph Fernando and Mark Murphy put the program together.

DLSU-D and Jollibee find their ACEs

Five young hopefuls received the gift of education, endless possibilities, and the reason to “be happy.” DLSU-D students Mary Jane Bares, Marites Cuaderno, Nestor De Tobio, Alexandra Jane Fernandez, and Ace Van Marc Jacela were awarded the Jollibee Foundation’s (JF) ACE Scholarship. Project ACE, or Improving Access, Curriculum and Employability in HRM Education towards Poverty Alleviation was established in 2004 with the aim to produce competent graduates in the HRM field who are qualified for immediate employment.
