Br. Armin Elected to IALU Top Post
De La Salle University President and Chancellor Br. Armin Luistro FSC was elected as the new president of the International Association of Lasallian Universities (IALU) during the Encuentro IX last June 23-27 at the La Salle University, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.
Br. Armin is the first DLSU president to hold the top post in IALU. Prior to his election, he had served as the association’s Asia-Pacific regional director since 2007.

Student Bags Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Championship
A Psychology student from DLSU won the gold medal in the Mundials (International Open Jiu-Jitsu Novice Championship) held last June 4 in California State University, Long Beach, CA, becoming the first Filipino world champion in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Maybelline Masuda, who was also president of the DLSU Psychology Organization and a Ms. Makati 2008 finalist, bested competitors from Guam, Brazil, and the US.
